After spending a lot of time and effort on a problem some customers objected with auto-negotiation on the PicoCOM1 and PicoCOM2 modules, we now have found the solution to solve this behvaiour. Fortunately there are no hardware changes required on the modules itself. To correct this problem it is just required to rotate the ethernet transformator on the base board at 180 degrees, so that the common-mode rejectors are at the ethernet connector side. This fully resolves the issue without further changes.

Please remember to follow this design rule during developing your own base board. The latest schematic available at our homepage already includes this change. Additionally we have created a short guideline for routing the ethernet signals on your base board (Ethernet routing guidelines).
To get the modules working with our starterkit we offer the possibility to submit a RMA request that will be handled *for free*. A RMA request can be claimed at: http://rma.fs-net.de .
If you are intended to modify the starterkit yourself please send us a short email at support@fs-net.de, including your customer-number you received during registration at the online shop. We will sent you you a new transformator to replace the current one immediately.
