    Dear Sirs,

We ordered and received some completly new boards from your company.
Some of them show a deviant behaviour.

The middle led, "status" lights constantly. When I checked serial output, I was in bootloader:

I tried to use Command "L1", afterwards the board rebooted. I verified the serial output and compaired it with a board having a normal behaviour.

We loaded software onto the board, it seems to work.

Question: Is it possible, that you forgot to press "L1" before delivery? Is there any additional step to do?

    Thank you very much.

I plugged in a USB to serial converter, I get the popup asking for the dll. I do the same using the dongle, the same happens.

I reboot having the USB to serial converter plugged in, I get the popup again. I do the same procedure using the dongle. - no popup asking for the dll.

So I conclude nothing can be wrong with the dongles software and registry entries of the dongle.

We bought a different WLAN USB stick, this one works as well, but there is the same situation.
I searched the web, but can not find any special registry key for Windows CE to enable it.
Is there any Regvalue for NetDCU8 to enable it?
    Thank you very much.

I contacted sales to assure myself of the fact that kernel "NK8MediaIE_060724.bin" contains aygshell. - confirmed

    I downloaded acrobat for ARM:

At our device we do not have "usb device" we have 2 "usb host". Therefore we are not able to use Active Sync. (I found no possibility to use Active Sync without device beeing a usb device)

So I start active sync only at my PC than in \Program Files\Microsoft
Active Sync\ a folder Adobe is created, containing the cab file. I
transfer the cab file manually onto my device and install it.
At the beginning everything seems to work, all pdf's are now
recognized as pdf (pdf icon), then I try to open a pdf, I get the
    error:

    Quote

Cannot find 'AcroRd32' (or one of its components). Make sure the path
and filename are correct and that all required libraries are
    available.

I did the same procedure with the program Primer (both kernels). - everything worked fine.

Did you manage it to work?

    Thank you very much.

I've been working with kernel: NK82_CF_070305.bin (no aygshell)

    work but they are shareware.

As mentioned I was able to install Acrobat Reader, but as soon as I try to open a pdf I get an error.

Sorry to ask again, but where can I find further information on partitioning?

    Current settings:
    Total : 64 MB
    OS-Image: 16 MB
    FFSDISK : 16 MB
FREE : 32 MB, Part type: EXTENDED
    Enter maximal size for OS-Image [16]: <LF>
Enter maximal size for FFSDISK [16]: <LF>
Format partition FREE as EXTENDED [Y]: <LF>

I use the kernel NK82_CF_070305.bin which is approximatly 11MB in size. Therefore I pick OS-Image: 11MB.
How many MB do I need as EXTENDED?
Does the OS need these MB for paging?
Is there any documentation on that?

Thank you very much in advance.
    Georg

This is the default partition configuration:

Is it possible to use the rest of the FREE: 32 MB for FFSDISK?

    Thank you very much

I turned on Debug output to find any possible error message.
    Maybe it helps:

There are some "Driver cannot be unloaded" outputs. What does it mean?
    Thank you.

I have got a WLAN USB stick, it works fine, except if you reboot the board, this stick is not recognized automatically after booting. That means you have to unplug and plug it in again.
A "normal" usb stick is recognized automatically.

Is it possible, that the filesystem is not loaded? As mentioned in:
    <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://fs-net.de/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=669&highlight=loaded">http://fs-net.de/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t ... ght=loaded</a><!-- m -->

Is there anything to set in the /init registry key?
Are there any additional registry keys to set to tell windows ce what to boot?

Thank you very much for your advise.

Is it possible to start a batchfile out of a ndcucfg batch?

It worked if I start an .exe file.

    Quote

    start "\Hard Disk3\NetDCU8\Reboot.exe"

    !>start "\Temp\RebootAndSettings.bat"<LF>

    !>start \Temp\RebootAndSettings.bat<LF>
    ERROR 209: Can't create process

Why is there no SHInitExtraControls function in
    C:\Programme\Windows CE Tools\wce500\NetDCU8\Include\Armv4i\aygshell.h defined?

In the aygshell.h file for pocketpc and smartphone it is defined.

Aygshell.dll is loaded in my project:

    Load module: aygshell.dll

Is there any different aygshell.lib for Armv4i to include?

    Thank you very much
