The commands "backlight off" and "backlight on" are not implemented in the current version.
Please take a look at the roadmap for our iMX6 kernel.
We have also checked command "display power on" and "display power off". Both commands are not working correctly.
Please take a look at the roadmap for our iMX6 kernel too.

    Our apologies about this problems.

One or two Ethernet ports is a soldering Option.
Means you have to order with one or two boards.
It's not possible to simply set a regsitry value to switch second port on.
In case of 2nd LAN port you loose the Audio feature.

    Please do the following:

    Code
    1. reg open \comm\ETHNETA1\Parms\TCPIP
    2. reg enum
    3. reg set value EnableDHCP dword 0
    4. reg set val IpAddress string 192.168.1.1
    5. reg set val Subnetmask string 255.255.255.0
    6. reg save

    Hope this helps.

You can get the size of the image with the tool Microsoft tool viewbin.exe
    The result for XIPVYB_C7E_140414.bin is:

    ViewBin... XIPVYB_C7E_140414.binImage Start = 0x80100000, length = 0x0332DB2CStart address = 0x801098C0Checking record #37 for potential TOC (ROMOFFSET = 0x00000000)Found pTOC = 0x8037598cROMOFFSET = 0x00000000Checking record #37 for potential TOC (ROMOFFSET = 0xFCF4B660)Checking record #386 for potential TOC (ROMOFFSET = 0xFE902C30)Checking record #568 for potential TOC (ROMOFFSET = 0x00000000)Found pTOC = 0x8342a32cROMOFFSET = 0x00000000Done.

But we don''t recommend using exactly this values. In case a Microsoft QFE will addd additional code and therfore the size of the Image will increase you can save it on your board.

    Hello,
Visual Studio 2010 is not supported at the moment.
    Please take a look to the following <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="http://forum.fs-net.de/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=3253">viewtopic.php?f=31&t=3253</a><!-- l -->.
You can also donwload 90 day test version of VS2008 to make your first steps.

You are right, you must disable GRP and HDMI before you can change something.
Best way to change and test different modes is:

    Code
    1. hdmicfg -GRP0 off -HDMI off -HDMI on 5 -GRP0 on

Use the above command line to test different output modes.

Please note, that with kernel V0.01 its not possible to disable serial debug output and to use this serial line for your own purposes.
This bug will be fixed with kernel V0.10 which wil be available until end of week cw 16/2012.
Take a look at our roadmap to see what bugs are known.

    Regards

    Hello,
There is a bug regarding "disable serial debug output" command 'O'->'Y'.
It doesn't work in kernel V0.01.
Please take a look to the roadmap for all konwn bugs.
We will release new image with some bug fixes end of this week 20.04.2012.

If you want to use ndcucfg with kernel V0.01 you can open a telnet conection between your PC and armStone and start ndcucfg on the command line.

ClearType is enabled by default for QBlissA8 and PicoMOD7.

    Code
    1. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GDI\ClearType]

To disable ClearType, you have to remove the registry key ClearType.
Setting this registry key to zero does not disable ClearType !

    Code
    1. Reg open \System\gdi
    2. Reg del key ClearType
    3. Reg save
    4. Reboot

    Hello,
all Boards from F&S whith WindowsCE or Linux as operating system can use a capacitive touch.screen.
But it's not so simple as with resistive touch screens.
If yu want to use a capacitive touch screen, you need a special controller. Sometimes, this controller is already included in flat foil cable of the touch screen (i.e. EDT) and sometimes you need a special interface board.
The touch controller can communicate with F&S board over USB or I2C interface.
In combination with our distributors we can offer you a working solution.

With QBlissA8 we now present the first embedded module in QBliss product family. QBliss family based on Qseven standard form factor and implements Rev 1.20 of Qseven specification. QBlissA8 uses a ARM CortexA8 CPU as main processor and a lot of additional harwadare to improve performance at low power consumption. Further product information about QBlissA8 can be found on our Website.

This thread is used to inform you about the latest bootloader and kernel updates. To get an notication automatically when a new announcment has been added to this thread you may click on the "Subscribe topic" label at the left upper corner of this thread.

First mass production samples of QBlissA8 have been shipped April 2011. Therefore the first bootloader and kernel releases as well as the software development kit (SDK) are available in the appropriate download area (password protected). You will find the required credentials in your starterkit package.

Firwmare of QBlissA8 is still in development. Thus not all drivers are in included in the current Windows CE kernel release. Missing driver are listed below, but will be available soon:

    • Power button driver
    • Touch screen driver
    • Camera interface driver
    • DigitalIO driver
    • There are still missing some enhancements to display driver (e.g. 3D support)

If you want to have information about roadmap of software development please take also a look in the passowrd protected download area.

    Hello,
You are right, support for "Smart device projects" is not included in VS 2010.
But you can still use VS 2008 for development.
The reason for this is as follows:
Next version of Windows CE with name Windows Embedded Compact 7 is very close to go to production.
You can already download the CTP (Community Technology Preview) from Microsoft download server.
Windows Phone 7 is also based on Windows Embedded Compact 7.
Both version support .NET CF and Silverlight as programming environment.
Additionally Compact 7 support native programming with C/C++.
So there are a lot of changes and it was not possible to bring this new features in VS2010. But we expect support after the relase of Win Phone 7 or Win Compact 7.

F&S is already working with the new version of WinCE. You can expect products at least at Embedded World 2011.

From the follwing link you can read that support for VS2010 will come with the availability of Windows Embedded Handheld in 2011.
