RTC battery with charging circuit

  • Hello,

we're using armstoneA9r3 board with iMX6q and we want to connect a battery for the RTC.

We also want the battery to be recharged.

Is there any recommended/verified solution to connect the battery and implement the charging circuit?

    Thanks,

    Damiano

  • We don't have a solution for a charging circuit.

The charging circuit depends on the power source you selected (rechargable batteries of different technologies, SuperCaps, etc.).

So ask the battery manufacturer for a solution for your battery.

  • Ok, thanks.

Just another question: what is the battery voltage range for the armStoneA9r3?

In the "Hardware Documentation armStone A9r2", I found min 0,9V - max 5,5V (VBAT for RTC power), but in the IMX6q datasheet I found min 2,8V - max 3,3V.

    Regards,

    Damiano

  • the armStoneA9r3 uses an external I2C RTC. 0.9-5.5V is the allowed input range for this chip.
