    Hello,

I would like to run my application (myApp.exe) directly at the NetDCU10. So I configure the registry under \Init like follows:

But I see this window titled "'Usb Device Status" at startup. What can I do to deactivate it and does not appear?.

Although I have one Usb host and the other like a device, I do not have anything connected to it.

Thank you very much in advance for your answer.

    Hello Mr Zutter,

Would be it possible to have this feature on the NetDCU10 kernel too? (I do not know if it is already in the NetDCU10’s kernel.)

Thank you very much in advance.

Could you please answer the question? PNG's with Alpha-Channel on NetDCU10 kernel? Or if it is possible, prepare a new kernel?

    Dear Mr. Keller,

So, does mean that I could use this pin J5.1 as a GPIO, but I should write my own code / driver to do so, because I can not use the DIO software driver.

Let me ask some more questions to use NetDCU10’s J5.1 (GPIO8) as an output pin:

How should I configure the registry settings?

    reg open \Drivers\BuiltIn\DIGITALIO
‘Deactivate the interrupts, even though is said that it affects NetDCU6 and NetDCU6/ ‘NetDCU8
reg set val IRQCfg0 dword 0
reg set val IRQCfg1 dword 0
reg set val IRQCfg2 dword 0
    ‘What else here?

How should I access this pin from code?

I write C# manage code, and I think that I need to do this from C++ native code by means of a wrapper or PInvoque ???

Could you lead me to do this?

    Thank you very much.

    Dear Sir,

If you can use GPIO8 - Pin 1 in J5 I/O Interface only as interrupt, I do not understand why it is said between brackets that is a IO-Port 8.(Document NetDCU10_Hardware_eng.pdf, version 1.00, point 2.11 J5 I/O Interface, page 23).

As you can see there, it seems that you can use this Pin 1 – GPIO8 the same as the others GPIO’s and as interrupt too. But it does NOT!!

    Hello,

During NetDCU10 booting, CAN bus status goes to "Busheavy" and after finishing the booting process, CAN bus status goes back to normal.

I put my CAN Bus initialization code at the end of my application initialization process. So, the last thing that my application does before start, is manage the CAN bus.

I try it backwards, moving the code to the start of the initialization process, without success.

    Any suggestions?

    Hello,

Just checking for a good understanding.

It is like we have only 3 serial lines, but one of them can work in RS232 or RS485 mode, and not at the same time.

Although they are connected to different pins and connector:

    - J2 Serial RS232 Port A: Pin 3 (RxD1), 4 (RTS1), 5 (TxD1) and 6 (CTS1).
    - J5 Serial RS232 Port B: Pin 12 (RxD2), 14 (TxD2).
    - J7 Serial RS232 Port C: Pin 9 (RxD3), 10 (TxD3).
    - J1 Serial RS485 Port: Pin 2 (RS485+) and 6 (RS485-).

They work with the same software driver.

Only the serial line 3 can change between RS232 and RS485 mode like it is said before:

    Quote

To activate RS485 you have to add following registry entry:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\builtin\serial3]
    "RS485"=dword:1

And to have more serial lines, we can use the NDCU-ADP/UART:

    Quote

If you need more serial lines, you should use our adapter NDCU-ADP/UART. With this you can add two more serial lines (RS485 or RS232).

    Is that all right?

    Hello,

I want to develop software for NetDCU10.

I already developed software for the NetDCU8 with Visual Studio 2005 and Visual Studio 2008. I used C# language.

I try to install the "netdcu10_sdk.msi" and I obtain the following error in a window with an OK button:

    ToolsMsmCA(Error): IHxFilters filter registration failure: Err = 0x80040305, Context = pFilters->SetNamespace( Namespace )

I hit this button and I obtain a second error on another window with an OK button:

    ToolsMsmCA(error): IHxRegisterSession transaction failure: Err = 0x8004036f,
    pRegSession->CommitTransaction()

I hit this button, and the Installer Program makes a rollback action without install anything.

My computer runs Win XP Service Pack2, and I use Visual Studio Team System 2008 with MS C# 2008.

    Hello Mr. Baeder,

    We found our error.

We develop our own hardware and we have a mistake on the carrier board for the NetDCU10. We have developed another previous one for NetDCU8.

On “NetDCU8_Display_eng.pdf†is written the NDCU-ADP/TX9 and NDCU-ADP/TX1 pin layout from pin 1 to 40.

But we notice that NDCU-ADP/TX09’s connector pin numbers goes from right to left and NDCU-ADP/TX1 from left to right. Then in NDCU-ADP/TX09 the connector first pin (pin 1) is in the left hand (if you see the connector’s front view) and in NDCU_ADP/TX1 is in the right hand, but in the documentation “NetDCU8_Display_eng.pdf†does not appear this difference.

I hope that our mistake can help other people if you make a note in your documentation.

As I started the NetDCU10, I see this on DCUtermi on Port COM1:

    Code
    1. <21><85><1><19><1><1><1><41><19><21><85><1><19><1><1><1><41><19><19><3><65><33><1><21><21>k<3><65><33><1><21><21><1><33><11><65><67><33><65><65>{<5><21><67><65><75><19><3><35><1><1><5><21><67><65><75><19><3><35><1><1><1><5><1><5><1><1><1><5><1><5><1><5><1><5>m<1><17><1><69><3>m<1><17><1><69><3><11><11><65><11><1><65><1><1>{<1><65><1><1><5><75><35>m<1><1><19><67><35><3><5><5><5><5><1><35><35><83><1><1><9><5><1><81><75><33><65><5><9><1><17><75><35><11><19><17><1>o<85><73><35><43><75><3><3><1><65><1><17><81><21><5><17><83><67><75><9><33><1><21><1><3><1><33><1><17><81><21><65>

I read on “NetDCU10_FirstSteps_eng.pdf†that if I do not see the log, I should do the following:

    - Check serial connection
    - Check power supply
    - Check settings of DCUTerm.exe
    - Hit “shift+s†before and while power on NetDCU10 plus command “Oâ€Â.

I did it without finding any solution.

I can not use NDCUCFG. Any suggestions?

Thank you very much in advance for your quick answer.

    Dear Mr. Keller,

First of all, thank you very much for your last answer.

As I found in the documentation, the NetDCU8’s pins for the bus I2C are J5 connector pin 10 (SDA) and 11 (SCL). They are GPIO.

But I did not find where I should connect the I2C bus SDA and SCL lines for use the Native I2C driver.

What I found is that using I2C driver (GPIO’s), the bus has a speed of 40 Khz, but with Native I2C driver is 200 Khz.

So, please, could you tell me where in the NetDCU8 should I connect the SDA and SCL lines of bus I2C?

    Hello Mr. Keller,

I purchased the Native I2C driver and a C# class interface to acces this bus.

I have a question related to how specify a subaddress.

The message headers structure are like this in the NetDCU8 device:
    - byte chDevAddr, byte chFlags, ushort wLen.

But I want to comunicate by I2C to a texas instruments TPIC2810 device wich respond to the following needs:
    - byte slave address, byte subaddress.
    - byte data to slave

How can I specify the subaddress? Should I pass byte chFlags like byte subaddress?

Thank you very much in advance,

    Best regards,

    Hello Mr. Keller,

I would like to know what exactly comes with the package NetDCU-SKIT-I2C.

If it is only the driver, I would like to known the availability of a C# bus I2C interface class (also like CanPort C# class for Bus CAN).

I think it is not something standard, please tell me if it would be possible to order it. (It is important to known time of availability and, of course, price)

    Hello Mr. Keller,

Thank you very much for your quick and correct answer.

I followed the example CanWrite.cs step by step, and I did not realize what I was really doing.

So I correct it doing two methods, one to create and initialize only one CanPort, other to send the CAN message.

    Now it works.

    Dear Mr. Keller,

I am working with CanPort C# class, which I already purchased to the sales department.

I experiment a problem on my software. And it was that the NetDCU8 freezes without saying anything about the cause of it (No exception deployed).

I try to detect the problem starting from scratch. And I saw that my code works without use the CanPort C# class.

I develop another application that only send and receive CAN messages and the NetDCU8 freezes when It sends 254 CAN messages and receive 255 CAN messages (1 device changed + 254 Acknowledgements).

I do another test, and I send continuously CAN messages to the NetDCU8 from another device. I see how the NetDCU8 received the CAN messages (more than 255) and continue working. I start to send CAN messages from the NetDCU8 to the other device and the NetDCU8 freezes only when it sends 254 CAN messages.

CanWrite.cs class that I use to access CanPort class:

This the code I use to send a messages from the Form.cs:

    Code
    1. msg0 = new byte[8] { 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00 };
    2. l_debug_info_trans_text.Text = escribirCan.WriteMessages(0x100, 0, 1, msg0);

    (l_debug_info_trans_text is only a label.)

I really appreciate your help to find a quick solution to this problem.

    Hello,

When I configured the parallel port to 5V (Jumper R33), what are the voltage level of the pins RD, NCS, NIRQ and NRES?

With R33 resistor connected (5V configuration), I observed (without any device connected) that in pin D0-D7 and NIRQ gives 5V, but in the rest (RD, NCS, NRES) the voltage is 3,3V.

    What are the work voltages?

Another thing is, that in the manual says that the default configuration is set to 3,3V, but until now we received all NetDCU8’s with this set to 5V. (We purchased 4 NetDCU8s).

    Hello Again,

Sorry but there are some questions that aren’t completely clear, thus in the following paragraph I attached some questions for clarifying whole my doubts :

1- Related to I2S bus: Apologies me, but I think that the bus I2S is a digital audio bus which signals are:

    - MCLK

    - SData

    - WS

Thus from your answer I understand that the audio peripheral in NET_DCU10 are analog audio signals. It’s right?

Furthermore, if NET_DCU10 only have analogical audio signals, could you give the technical specifications of the audio signals. ( Voltage (p-p), power to drive,…).

2- Related to Ethernet ESD protection: Which are the level protection against ESD, provided by the NETDCU? .

2kV is required in our application, thus if NETDCU doesn’t provide this protection we need to integrate an ESD chip protection.

3- Related to RS-232: I understand that the signal level in all the three RS-232 ports are EIA-232 levels (+/- 24V), not logical levels; isn’t it?

Is to much important receive your answer as soon as possible, because if NETDCU10 only have analogical audio signals, thus implies to modify our hardware design.

We are looking to hearing form you,
