Howto detect if F3S enabled/active

  • Hello,

I installed new kernel on board (V2.7) and typed in the F3S serial number.

How can I detect if F3S is typed in correctly and F3S file system is enabled/active?

    Thanks, Kaiser

  • Hello,

    1) in the seral boot output you will see an info if F3S is loaded

    2) Use Storage Manager API to get partition Information. "bPartType" is 0xF3 or 0xF4 for F3S or F3S extended (assume you will also see this in the Control Panels storage applet)

  • Hello,

yes, seems that the Storage manager in Control panel shows also this information.

On my activated F3S system, following information is available.

    Name: Part00

    Size: 515 Sectors

    Type: 0x20

    File System:

    Flags: 0x00

    Not mounted

    Name: Part01

    Size: 32576 Sectors

    Type: 0x21

    FileSystem: fs_binfs.dll

    Flags: 0x10

    Mounted

    Name: Part02

    Size: 96576 Sectors

    Type: 0xF3 -> Seems to be FS3

    FileSystem: f3s.dll

    Flags: 0x10

    Mounted

    Part00 not used/bootloader?

Part01 is the system partition, mounted to / ?

    Part02 is mounted to /FFSDISK?

    Best regards, Kaiser

  • Hello,

yes, Part00 is for bootloader, psd, bootbmp.

Part 01 is for the kernel, you can not access this partition (without speciall tools, e.g. like Kernel-Update-Tool).

"/" is located in RAM only and has no relation to Flash memory.
