Custom .wic file for armstone​MX8MP

    Hi,

    I am trying to create a custom .wic file for the armstoneMX8MP.
    I am basing this on meta-fus/wic/fus-uboot-bootpart.wks.in, but it uses the UBOOT_WIC_BINARY and UBOOT_OFFSET.

    Those values are not defined in the meta-fus/conf/machine/fsimx8mp.conf, only for other machines.
    Am I using the wrong wic to base this off or were they forgotten in the machine conf?

    In our current flash layout, U-Boot is located in the BOOT partitions of the eMMC. So no U-Boot image is required in the sysimg with the root filesystem. This was different in the past but we think it is easier to handle this way.


    Please note that if you want to update from an earlier version where U-Boot was still located in the User-Area of the eMMC (pre 2023.09), you have to follow a specific update procedure. Our update script as provided with the current releases should take care of this. The basic idea is to first update U-Boot with fsimage save, because only the newer U-Boot is capable of handling old and new variants of NBoot/U-Boot combinations. Then restart the board so that this new U-Boot is actually active. Then update NBoot with fsimage save. In this final step, U-Boot is automatically relocated to the BOOT partition.
