This is the default partition configuration:

Total : 64 MB
OS-Image: 16 MB
FFSDISK : 16 MB
FREE : 32 MB, Part type: EXTENDED
Is it possible to use the rest of the FREE: 32 MB for FFSDISK?
Thank you very much

Hello,
yes you can overwrite the default partition configuration by using the command "P" in the booloader. Enter "P" and follow the instunctions.
Thank you for the information.
Georg
Sorry to ask again, but where can I find further information on partitioning?
Current settings:
Total : 64 MB
OS-Image: 16 MB
FFSDISK : 16 MB
FREE : 32 MB, Part type: EXTENDED
Enter maximal size for OS-Image [16]: <LF>
Enter maximal size for FFSDISK [16]: <LF>
Format partition FREE as EXTENDED [Y]: <LF>
I use the kernel NK82_CF_070305.bin which is approximatly 11MB in size. Therefore I pick OS-Image: 11MB.
How many MB do I need as EXTENDED?
Does the OS need these MB for paging?
Is there any documentation on that?
Thank you very much in advance.
Georg
Hello,
QuoteHow many MB do I need as EXTENDED?
- You can use remaining store (32MB) for extended. Format it with partition manager under control panel. Than you have two "ffsdisk"(ffsdisk,ffsdisk1).
- You can also use 48MB for ffsdisk than you have only one partition.
QuoteDoes the OS need these MB for paging?
- Paging? We talking about flash memory!
- You can round to nearest MB (e.g. kernel has 13.5MB use 14MB for OS partition, note: sector size is 512 bytes)
QuoteIs there any documentation on that?
- You can you microsoft documentation for stores and storage manger
- See sample http://fs-net.de/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=328
Dear Mr. Zutter!
Thank you very much for your quick reply, but what is the EXTENDED for?
Georg
Hello,
maybe we missunderstood!
OS-Image: is flash size in MB reserved only for kernel (user does not "see" this storeage)
FFSDISK: is flash size in MB for store user data (ffsdisk).
EXTENDED: is flash size in MB for store user data (ffsdisk1,..). Use partition manager (or - functions) for administrate this storage.
If you use all 48MB for "FFSDISK" the "EXTENDED" is irrelevant.
Dear Mr. Zutter!
Thank you very much, now I understand
Georg
